Beyond the community of Corolla, beyond the pavement, beyond the trappings of civilization, extends miles of rugged back country unlike any other place left in the United States. Traveling up to the northern beaches is like taking a step back into a time here on the Outer Banks when paved roads were unheard of, communities still banded together to haul in the nets out of the sea, and the legendary wild horses roamed free throughout.
The north beach is a world beaten by storms and sculpted by the elements. It is a landscape of harsh realities masquerading as subtle romantic beauty.
